YouTube video ad editing

Skippable in-stream ads, 6-second bumpers and vertical Shorts versions, edited for people who can skip.

Editing for the skip button

Most YouTube ads can be skipped after a few seconds, so the opening has to do its work before the button appears. We put the brand or product on screen early, say the main point in the first lines, and keep the pace up so a viewer who stays gets something new every few seconds. The longer story can follow for the people who keep watching.

Formats we edit

We check Google's current length and format rules for each ad type at delivery, since they change.

Sound matters here

Unlike most social feeds, many YouTube viewers have the sound on. A clean voice track, music at the right level and a mix that holds up on laptop speakers and earbuds all count. We level dialogue, reduce room noise and duck the music under speech. Captions still go on, because some people watch muted.

Bumpers from longer ads

A 6-second bumper needs its own plan. We pick one idea from the master, often the product shot plus a single line, and build it to stand alone. One master usually gives two or three bumper options to test.

End screens and calls to action

The last seconds tell the viewer what to do: visit, shop, sign up or search. We hold the end card long enough to read, keep the logo and the ask large, and leave room for any overlay the platform adds.

Questions

Can you cut a YouTube ad from an existing brand video?

Yes. Send the full video and its project files or source footage if you have them. A cut from source gives cleaner reframes than one from a finished export.

Do you upload to Google Ads?

No. We deliver MP4 files with a naming scheme you approve. Uploading stays with your team.

Have footage and a campaign coming up? Tell us the platforms, the lengths you need and how many versions you want to test.
